VLANs

  • Create a phone/data vlan
create vlan "Maine-Data"
create vlan "Maine-Voice"
  • Remove a VLAN
delete vlan <name>
  • Add a port to a VLAN
configure vlan default delete port 4:19
config vlan "Florida-Core" add port 4:19
  • Assign VLAN ID/IP address tag
configure vlan "Maine-Data" tag 17
configure vlan "Maine-Data" ipaddress 10.0.20.1 255.255.255.0
  • Remove the IP address
unconfigu vlan "Maine-Data" ipaddress
  • Enable routing on the VLAN
enable ipforwarding vlan "Maine-Data"
  • set/remove default gateway
configure iproute add default 10.0.5.105
conf iproute delete default 10.0.5.105
  • If you have a port going to a switch that needs to carry multiple VLANs, ensure all VLANs are added to it tagged (ports native to the VLAN are added untagged).
configure vlan "Maine-Data" add port 3:1 tagged

Ports

  • Name a port
configure port 2:1 display-string "Kansas2"
  • Lock a port down
config port 1 auto off speed 100 duplex full
  • view config
    • show edp ports <pp> detail
    • show edp ports all
    • show lldp port all|<pp>|detail
  • Port mirroring
    • To see the current status of port mirroring:
IPTLabCore:18 # show mirroring 
Mirror port: 3:18(juno-eth1) is up untagged
port number 5:19(Net-Net) in  all vlans
  • to set up a new mirror, use these steps:
IPTLabCore:2 # configure mirroring delete ports 4:16
* IPTLabCore:3 # configure mirroring add ports 3:22
* IPTLabCore:4 # show mirror
Mirror port: 3:18(juno-eth1) is up untagged
port number 3:22(G350) in  all vlans

Configurations

  • save configuration to a remote host
upload configuration 10.0.5.100 IPTLabCore-080408.cfg
  • Show configuration

If you have your target host IP address, but don't know what port it's on, use the show iparp command in the core router.
